Gone for two weeks
I'm leaving today for my two weeks of AP Chem training.

Hoping to get a lot of reading and writing done (in addition to learning some chemistry).

I will supposedly have internet access, but it recently occurred to me that since the site for the training is a boarding school, then I will be on a school network. Which means that things that I use (such as LJ and the Worlds in Flux forums) might be blocked. I also won't have AIM access because it's not installed on my laptop and I can't install new software onto the laptop (it belongs to my school and you need an admin code to install anything).

So, no AIM for two weeks. Maybe no LJ either. Email will almost certainly be working (rsilva444@yahoo.com if anyone wants to get in touch or just say hi).

Hope everyone out there has a nice couple of weeks!

-Rick

If you go to aim.com they have aim2go there -- it's AIM over http. Java-based, I believe. Good in a pinch. :)

Have fun!

np :) There -is- a chance the port it uses may be blocked, but they usually don't bother.

I see someone else already covered the aim over the web part for you. :)

I'd be surprised if a school internet access blocks things like LiveJournal unless there is a policy that it is not for any personal use at all and only for studies. There isn't any reason to block LJ for safety and security reasons that I'm aware of. So hopefully you'll be have full internet access.

We'll miss ya! And it's only a few weeks to Gencon now.

Wow, another Roxbury Latin alum into gaming. We should have had an extracurricular group but I doubt Rev. Jarvis would have approved. :) Hope you don't mind me lurking in your journal.
